Cub Cadet CC500EL
The Cub Cadet CC500EL walk behind lawn mower is obviously a lot smaller than the likes of Cub Cadet’s tractor lawnmowers, like the Cub Cadet ZTT42 and the Cub Cadet ZTT50 lawn mowers. This walk behind lawn mower is a 110 V electric mower with a power cord. It uses a bail and switch system to start the 12 amp motor which powers the blade in the steel mower deck. Unfortunately the wheels do not derive any power from the engine so the operator will need to push it. This means that the CC 500 EL push mower is really only suitable to gardens that are fairly small as well as being close to a power socket.
While the Cub Cadet CC500EL walk behind mower may be a little frustrating to use due to the presence of a power cord, there are some redeeming features. Most notably is the fact that you have 3 different options as to what you do with the cut grass clippings. You can discharge them onto the grass, although this sometimes proves a little unsightly. You can use a mulching system which pulverizes the grass until it’s just a pulp that will rot very quickly, returning it’s nutrients to the ground. Or you can collect the clippings in the CC 500 EL’s 1.9 bushel bagger.
One of the drawbacks of the Cub Cadet CC500EL is that it’s range is completely dependent on the length of it’s power cord. This can be very frustrating because it means that if you have a long narrow garden, you will need to purchase an extension cord to ensure you can cut all the grass. The mowing deck on the CC 500 EL uses Cub Cadet’s patented CycloCut mowing system. This mower deck is able to be adjusted from 1 inch above the ground to 3.5 inches above the ground in half inch increments.
