Cub Cadet ZTT42
The Cub Cadet ZTT42 Zero Turn Tractor lawn mower is a slightly different version than the likes of the Cub Cadet Z-Force S60LP and Cub Cadet Z-Force 48 Zero Turn Rider lawnmowers. This is mostly down to the shape of the the ZTT 42 lawnmower. For all intents and purposes, it looks like a regular tractor lawn mower, but due to Synchro Steer technology, it has the ability to turn on a dime. The way Synchro Steer technology works is that it uses the steering wheel to decide which rear wheel turns faster. So when you lock the steering wheel to turn left, the left rear wheel almost completely stops while the right rear wheel speeds up, thus allowing you to make a zero radius turn without tearing up the turf you are driving over. The ability to supply power independently to each rear wheel on the Cub Cadet ZTT42 is made possible by a Dual Hydro Gear EZT transmission.
The mower deck on the Cub Cadet ZTT42 lawnmower is 42 inches wide. The mowing deck is powered by the same engine that supplies power to the wheels. This is a Courage engine that has been developed by Kohler. It’s a single cylinder gasoline powered engine that produces 18 hp. The engine is started by a 12 volt battery supplying 190 cold crank amps. This battery is then recharged using a 15 amp, regulated alternator.
The weight of the Cub Cadet ZTT42 Zero Turn Tractor comes to 243 kg (535 lbs). This weight is supported by the front and rear wheels. The front tires measure 15×5 (15 inch diameter, 5 inch width), while the rear wheels measure 20×8 (20 inch diameter, 8 inch width). There are many fantastic attachments that are compatible with the ZTT42. These range from a 42 inch, dual stage snow blower to baggers, rollers, utility carts and more.
