Toro LX466
The Toro LX466 garden tractor lawnmower uses an Intek engine designed and built by Briggs and Stratton to power both the wheels and the blades in the mower deck. This engine is a 4 stroke with 2 cylinders. The engine comes with an oil filter. It has a total displacement of 0.7 liters. This volume is big enough to produce 22 hp. When buying the LX 466 brand new, it comes with a 2 year limited warranty. The power produced by the engine is transferred to the rear wheels through a hydrostatic transmission. This transmission makes the Toro LX466 an automatic. The top speed the lawnmower travels at 10.3 kph (6.4 mph) going forwards while in reverse it has a top speed of 3.7 (2.3 mph) when it’s reversing.
There are a good few tractor lawnmowers similar to the Toro LX466. These include both the Toro LX468 and the Toro LX465 garden tractor lawnmowers. The standard deck that comes with the LX 466 is a 46 inches wide. However there are a number of both smaller and larger decks that you can optionally purchase. The standard mowing deck houses 3 blades. Some people optionally purchase the Recycler mulching kit for this mower to force the grass clippings to decompose quicker. You can also optionally purchase a rear attached bagger to collect the grass clippings.
The Toro LX466 lawnmower handily comes with cruise control when you purchase it. This makes cutting large or long areas of grass much easier as you don’t have to constantly worry about keeping your speed constant. The front axle on the LX 466 is made from cast iron which means that is will practically never break when subjected to heavy or sudden loading. During the winter time, you can attach a dual stage snow blower or even a front blade to clear your driveway.
