Toro LX465
The Toro LX465 garden tractor lawnmower shares many of it’s features with the Toro LX466 and the Toro LX468 lawn tractors. The mower deck that comes with the LX 465 as standard has a cutting width of 46 inches. Housed inside the mower deck is 3 blades that give a much smoother cut to your lawn than a single 46″ blade would on it’s own. By using a Recycler kit on the mowing deck, you can mulch the grass clippings so that they rot fast instead of just lying on top of the grass after cutting them. Alternatively you can purchase an optional bagger attachment that collects the grass clippings after cutting so your lawn is left looking a lot neater. The mower deck is raised and lowered using a spring assisted hand lever from a low of 1.5 inches up to 4 inches above the ground. The blades on the mower deck are belt driven and engaged using a manual PTO.
The engine powering the Toro LX465 is a Courage model from Kohler. This engine uses a full pressure lubrication system to keep it operating smoothly. The max power output from the engine comes to 20 hp. A 11.4 liter (3 US gallon) fuel tank supplies the LX 465 with gasoline. The hydrostatic transmission which allows the operator to control how much power the mower receives gives the LX465 a top speed of 10.3 kph (6.4 mph), while in reverse it maxes out at 4 kph (2.5 mph).
The Toro LX465 is very useful to have around your house during the winter. This is thanks to the fact that it can work with a good deal of different attachments. These include everything from a 42 inch, 2 stage snow blower to a utility cart to a rear bagger and even an aerator. Make sure to include both what you like and what you dislike about this lawnmower in your review.
