Snapper XL1738E Snow Blower
The Snapper XL1738E Snow Blower is an absolutely monster when it comes to clearing heavy falls of snow. This machine has a 0.97 m (38 inches) clearing width, which is much, much bigger than the likes of the Snapper SS822E Snow Blower or even the Snapper L1226E Snow Blower. As it’s so big, this machine needs a lot of power. Luckily it’s equipped with a 4 stroke, Briggs and Stratton engine that provides it with 16.5 ft-lbs of torque. This engine then transfers power to the wheels via a friction disc drive transmission which gives it 5 speeds when traveling forwards but only 2 for when it’s traveling in reverse.
The Snapper XL1738E dual stage snowblower has a massive clearing width of 0.97 m (38 inches) as mentioned earlier, while it’s intake height is not as big at 0.5 m (19.75 inches). However if you are tackling depths of snow deeper than 0.5 m, then you just need to add the optional drift cutting knives to the machine. The auger housed inside the XL1738 dual stage snow thrower is constructed from steel. It’s been heavily serrated to make chopping up the snow easier. Once the auger does break up the snow, it then funnels it towards the impeller located at the center of the machine. This impeller consists of 4 blades that quickly chop up the snow further and force it through the chute at high speeds.
The chute on the Snapper XL1738E snowblower is made from steel so that it doesn’t buckle under heavy loads of snow passing through it. This steel chute can rotate up to 200 degrees and is controlled by the operator from the back of the snow blower. There is also a deflector at the top of the chute to give the operator better control over the stream of snow leaving the snowblower. The Snapper XL1738E 2 stage snow blower can throw snow up to 13.7 m (45 feet).
