Snapper L1226E Snow Blower
The Snapper L1226E Snow Blower is much bigger than the likes of the Snapper SS822E Snow Blower (which is 4 inches smaller than the L1226E). It gets it’s power from a 4 stroke Briggs and Stratton engine which means that there is no need to manually mix petrol and oil. Instead, the machine takes care of that itself, you just need to add the oil and petrol separately to the machine. This Briggs and Stratton engine provides the snowblower with 11.5 ft-lbs of gross torque which is more than enough for this 26″ snow blower.
Power from the engine in the Snapper L1226E snow blower is transferred to the wheels via a friction disc drive transmission, which gives it 6 gears when traveling forwards and 2 for reversing. This engine also powers the auger and impeller on this 2 stage snow thrower. The auger is made from steel with serrated edges to quickly hack into the snow and break it up. As the auger breaks up the snow it also passes it towards the impeller. The function of the impeller is to suck up the snow, break it up into smaller pieces and shoot it out through the chute, far away from the machine itself. The impeller is also made from steel and consists of 3 blades. It has a diameter of 0.3 m (12 inches).
The Snapper L1226E dual stage snowblower uses Arctic Trac wheels that give it very good grip, even in slippery conditions, thanks to their thread especially designed for gripping in snowy and icy conditions. Each wheel has a width of 0.13 m (5 inches) and a diameter of 0.38 m (15 inches). You will also find reversible skid shoes on the Snapper L1226E snow thrower which allow you to control the height of the auger (this helps to prevent you from leaving any unnecessary marks on the surface you are cleaning). The total weight of this snow blower comes to 112.5 kg (248 lbs).
