Massey Ferguson 2518H
The Massey Ferguson 2518H lawnmower is the smallest model in the MF 2500 series of garden tractor lawn mowers (both the smallest engine and smallest mower deck). If you are interested in the larger models in the Massey Ferguson 2500 series, then you should definitely check out the Massey Ferguson 2524H, the Massey Ferguson 2522H and the Massey Ferguson 2520H lawn tractors. The engine powering the MF2518H pumps out just 18 horse power. This is a Courage engine, designed and manufactured by the team at Kohler. It’s a one cylinder model that is key started and gets gas from a fuel tank that can hold up to 13.2 liters (3.5 US gallons).
Power from the engine reaches the wheels on the Massey Ferguson 2518H tractor mower by first passing through a K-46 hydrostatic transmission. This transmission makes the mower an automatic which means no gear changing. The top speed that the mower can reach is 8.9 kph (5.5 mph) going forward and in reverse it can hit 4.8 kph (3 mph). The engine also powers the mower deck on the MF 2528H which has a cutting width of 38 inches. With the plastic flap on the side, the total width of the mower deck comes to 50 inches.
The mower deck on the Massey Ferguson 2518H is floating and aligned via the rear, full width roller that keeps it in line with the contours of the ground you are cutting. The mower deck has infinite height positions between a high of 4 inches above the ground and 1.5 inches above the ground. This mower deck consists of just 2 blades. For dealing with the grass clippings, you can add a bagger attachment to the rear of the lawn mower to collect them. There are also more attachments available for it. These range from a 42 inch snowblower to a front blade and front end loader.
