John Deere LA100
The John Deere LA100 lawn mower is the first model in the series that was produced for only one year in 2007. If you are looking for something bigger than the JD LA100 from the same series then have a look at the John Deere LA110 or the John Deere LA120. If you are looking for the new version of this garden tractor then take a look at the John Deere LA105. The LA100 is powered by a 1 cylinder gasoline engine that has a displacement of 0.5 liters and produces 18.5 hp. Like most engines in the ‘LA’ series, the JD LA100 uses a paper and foam element air filter to purify the air entering the combustion chambers.
The engine on the John Deere LA100 is started by a 12 volt battery that gets recharged by a 12 amp alternator. The engine requires 1.4 liters of oil to stay properly lubricated. The transmission on the JD LA100 consists of 5 gears for traveling forward and 1 gear for reversing. While John Deere have ceased production of this mower, it still remains incredibly popular thanks to the fact that it’s a John Deere and so is incredibly reliable. You will very often seen it being used by garden contractors as well as by homeowners for personal use.
The front wheels of the John Deere LA100 measure 15×6-6 (15 inch diameter, 6 inch width and 6 inch rim diameter) while the rear wheels measure 20×8-8 (20 inch diameter, 8 inch width, 8 inch rim diameter). These turf wheels offer fantastic grip, even in wet conditions without the risk of you possibly damaging the lawn you are working on. The total weight of the JD LA100 comes to 200 kg (442 lbs) which seems very light but is totally understandable as it’s a the smallest machine in the series.
