The John Deere 9330 4×4 pulling tractor is quite a beast. It’s much larger and more powerful than the John Deere 9230 tractor, but it’s not nearly as big as the John Deere 9630. Production of the tractor takes place in the JD’s assembly plant that is located in Waterloo which is in the state of Iowa. This tractor is only available with a 4WD chassis. The dimensions of the JD 9330 are pretty interesting, especially when you compare them to a regular tractor from JD. It’s wheelbase is 3.5 m (137.8 inches) and it has a minimum turning radius of 4.45 m. The unballasted weight of the tractor comes in at 16,915 kg (37,290 lbs) when dual tires are attached.

Obviously the engine that powers the massive and heavy John Deere 9330 tractor must be very big and up to the job. It’s a John Deere designed and built PowerTech Plus engine that is 13.5 liters in size and has 6 cylinders. The engine is turbocharged which gives it a power output of 375 hp. The engine is liquid cooled and fires at a compression ratio of 16-to-1. The air intake is cleaned through a dual paper element air filter.

Power from the engine on the John Deere 9330 is transferred to the wheels by one of 2 different transmissions that you can choose when you are buying it. One is a PowerSync transmission that gives the machine 18 speeds going forward and 6 for reversing. The other PowerShift transmission that gives the tractor 18 gears when traveling forward and 6 for reversing. Changing gears is done using a wet clutch. There is a choice of hitches on the JD 9330. One is a category 4N/3, 3 point hitch while the other is a category 4/4N, 3 point hitch. The maximum safe lifting capacity of the rear hitch is 6940 kg (15300 lbs).
