John Deere 8200
The John Deere 8200 tractor is a larger version of the John Deere 8100 tractor, but it’s not as large and powerful as the John Deere 8400 tractor. All 3 tractors are part of the same series. The JD 8200 tractor is mostly used on tillage farms that require a powerful machine for large implements. There is a choice of engines for this tractor. Both engines are very similar. They both are turbocharged 6 cylinder models that are prevented from overheating thanks to a liquid cooling system. The most blatant difference between the 2 engines is their total volume. The smaller engine has a displacement of 7.6 liters while the larger engine has a displacement of 8.1 liters.
Both engine choices on the John Deere 8200 tractor are fueled with diesel from a tank that can hold up to 511 liters (135 US gallons). The engine on the JD 8200 is started using two 12 volt batteries. This set up provides the engine with 1450 cold cranking amps. The engine has a 140 amp alternator to recharge the batteries. The engine powers the closed hydraulics system. This hydraulic system has a capacity of 113.6 liters (30 US gallons) of hydraulic fluid. It’s valve flow rate is 113.6 liters per minute (30 US gallons per minute). The hydraulics system powers the rear hitch (category 3/3N). This gives it a total lifting capacity of 4717 kg (10,400 lbs). Using a lift assist cylinder, this lifting capacity can be increased to 6425 kg (14,165 lbs).
While the John Deere 8200 is no longer in production, it’s still a relatively new machine (no new models have been built since 1999) and remains a favorite among tillage farmers today. You can help potential purchasers by leaving a review of your experiences using the JD 8200 in the form below.
