The John Deere 5083EN tractor is the smallest model in the 5EN Narrow Series that is offered by JD. The tractor was built to be able to pull large loads as well as accommodate a large array of attachments and implements while being narrow enough to easily fit down tight rows of trees or plants in an orchard or vineyard or even nursery. The engine that powers the JD 5083EN is powered by a diesel PowerTech engine that is 4.5 liters in size. This engine provides 83 hp in output (which you may have already guessed from the name).

There is a choice of 2 different transmissions on this machine. You can choose the gearbox that comes with the tractor as standard, which is a PowrReverser which gives the John Deere 5083EN 12 gears in both forwards and reverse. If this transmission does not float you boat, you can opt for an expanded PowrReverser gearbox instead. This optional gearbox has 24 gears for traveling forwards as well as 24 for reversing. All gear changing is done with a wet clutch.

The John Deere 5083EN is very similar to the John Deere 5083E tractor in a lot of ways. If you are looking for a larger model than this one that is in the 5EN narrow series, you should take a look at the John Deere 5093EN or the John Deere 5101EN tractors. The open center hydraulics system on this model powers a category 1 or 2, 3 point hitch. This gives it a maximum safe lifting capacity of 1530 kg (3374 lbs). There is choice of either an open operator station or a cab. Both have a ROPS, but the model with the cab obviously weighs a little more. There is also a choice of chassis for this model, either 2WD or MFWD.
