John Deere 2520

The John Deere 2520 compact utility tractor is a bigger model than the John Deere 2320 tractor. The JD 2520 is powered by a 3 cylinder, Yanmar, diesel engine. This model number is the 3TNV82A. This engine has a displacement of 1.33 liters and is liquid cooled by a cooling system that requires 3.9 liters of coolant to fully fill it. The fuel tank on the John Deere 2520 has the capacity to hold up to 26.9 liters (7.1 US gallons) of gasoline, which gives the machine a fairly long continuous operating time before it needs to be refilled. Power from the engine reaches the wheels after first passing through the transmission box. This is a hydrostatic transmission that over 2 ranges that gives the JD 2520 a top speed of 21 kph (13 mph). One Review of the “John Deere 2520”

  1. Doug Owen says:

    underpowered and weak, breaks easily.
Don’t buy one. (I shouldn’t say that until after I sell mine).
I am shopping for a Kubota, New Holland or other brand. I thought I could not go wrong with the more expensive Amerrican built John Deere, but Hey, I have been wrong before.

    Year of Manufacture: 0
Pros: It’s green and I recieved two free hats. It works for awhile. It’s pretty.
Cons: Underpowered and easily broken. I am not using this thing for commercial, I am using it to move dirt, dig drainage, and clear brush on my 3 acres. Do not ever coast or the drive shaft bends. Do not ever stop in an emergency, that will bend the driveshaft as well (directly from the service manager). The four wheel drive may or may not be engaged by the lever and dash light (another comment from the service manager).
Washington Tractor in Snohomish went from great sales to piece of junk service. Theuy can sell it but they do not know how to fix it, and it seems to be needing fixing more often. I know a lot of hours on this machine (148). So I shouldn’t complain, that’s only $155 per hour of running time.
    Attachments: Loader, Backhoe, Box blade
Modifications: manual position thumb on backhoe
