John Deere 59 Inch Snow Blower
The John Deere 59 Inch Snow Blower is compatible with just a small range of John Deere tractors, 4 to be precise. These are the John Deere 3005, the John Deere 3320, the John Deere 3520 and the John Deere 3720 compact tractors. Unlike snowblowers like the John Deere SB11 or the John Deere SB12, which are attached to the rear of you tractor, the JD 59″ snow blower is attached to the front of your tractor.
59 inches is obviously very big for a snow blower and as such, this one can handle massive quantities of snow due to the fact that it’s a dual stage snow thrower. It has a 16″ steel auger to initially break up the snow, but it also has an impeller blade at the bottom of the deflector chute to throw the snow far away from the machine. Thanks to it’s hydraulic controls, the steel deflector chute can rotate up to 200 degrees, that’s 100 degrees in both directions from facing center forward. This means that the operator practically never needs to leave the cab of the tractor to adjust the John Deere 59 inch snow blower, except of course for attaching and detaching it.
The John Deere 59″ snowblower is highly adjustable. It comes with adjustable skid shoes as standard so that you can change the height of the snow blower from the ground. This will help you prevent it from ever scraping your paths and driveways. The JD 59″ snow thrower also has drift knives to help you more efficiently cut into large, deep pockets of snow.
Unfortunately it has no shear bolt protection for the impeller. Both augers have a shear bolt but should a piece of ice, rock, wood, or anything else make it past the augers and jam the impeller it is cleverly designed to destroy the universal that drives the auger gear box (a $200 part) rather than a shear bolt (a $2 part).

Has been great having a front mounted thrower. Overall works well. However, I have a gravel driveway and after 3 relatively light winters I have worn a significant hole in the deflector chute. My dealer will not support me with my complaint and concern about the quality of materials in this unit
I like having the blower on the front of the tractor, with a 1/2 mile curvy driveway it is much easier than backing up while blowing snow. I was disappointed with the reliability. It all seems to be fairly well designed other than the fact that anything that jams the impeller will break an expensive part rather than having some sort of shear bolt incorporated in the design. Would also have preferred to have the blower about 12″ wider, the 3720 has the power for that.
Performs well.
Should be available 12″ wider, a little narrow for the 3720.
