The Husqvarna PZ6029FX is very similar to the Husqvarna PZ6029D in many respects. However the main difference between the 2 mowers is that the PZ 6029 FX is powered by a gasoline engine. This is a Kawasaki FX series engine. The engine is a twin cylinder, air cooled motor that produces 29 hp. The total size of the engine is 0.829 liters. The 15 amp alternator attached to the engine recharges the 12 volt battery once the engine is running. The engine uses a heavy duty canister type air filter to purify the air intake.

Power from the engine reaches the rear wheels of the Husqvarna PZ6029FX after first passing through a dual hydrostatic Parker transmission. This transmission allows the operator to control each rear wheel independently of the other. This system is what allows the PZ 6029 FX to execute zero radius turns. The top speed of this mower is very impressive, coming in at 19.3 kph (12 mph) when moving forwards, while in reverse it can manage a top speed of 9.7 kph (6 mph).
