Cub Cadet Z-Force S48LP
The Cub Cadet Z-Force S48LP Zero Turn Rider lawn mower is a little different to most other lawnmowers from Cub Cadet. This is for the simple reason that it is powered by liquid propane and not gasoline. However, practically everything else about it is very similar to the Cub Cadet Z-Force S48 lawnmower and the smaller Cub Cadet Z-Force S46. The engine that powers the Z Force S 48 LP is a Kawasaki FR engine. This 2 cylinder engine has a displacement of 0.726 liters. Like the other machines in the Z-Force Zero Turn Rider series, it is key started using a 12 volt battery which produces 275 cold crank amps. This 12 volt battery is then recharged by 15 amp alternator when the engine is running.
The Cub Cadet Z-Force S48LP lawnmower obviously has a 48 inch deck which consists of 3 small blades. The total weight of the Z Force S 48 LP is very high, coming in at 345 kg (760 lbs). This weight is then supported by the 4 wheels. The rear wheels are much bigger, measuring 18×9.5-8 (18 inch diameter, 9.5 inch width, 8 inch rim diameter) while the front wheels are obviously a bit smaller, coming in at 13×5-6 (13 inch diameter, 5 inch width, 6 inch rim diameter).
The reason that the Cub Cadet Z-Force S48LP has a zero turning radius is thanks special ‘Synchro Steer’ technology which allows the steering wheel to control each rear wheel independently. This means that when you lock the steering wheel in one direction, the rear wheel at the inside of the turn stops spinning while the outside wheel keep spinning, allowing you to execute a zero radius turn. Don’t forget that Cub Cadet also sell spare parts so that if you do encounter a problem with you machine, you can get it fixed relatively quickly and easily.
