Cub Cadet Z-Force S46
The Cub Cadet Z-Force S46 Zero Turn Rider lawn mower is a very clever design that gives it a zero turning radius. It uses a steering wheel instead of lap bars to turn and a differential system on the rear wheels to control each of them independently. This technology is called Synchro Steer Technology. The Z Force S46 is powered by a Courage engine that is built by Kohler. This 2 cylinder motor provides 20 hp. Power from the engine then gets transferred to the wheels via a Dual EZT transmission. Power is transferred to the mower deck through a rubber belt that is reinforced with Kevlar.
The mower deck on the Cub Cadet Z-Force S46 lawnmower has a cutting width of 46 inches and has 2 blades, not 1. This gives a much more even cut to the grass than a standard mowing deck with just one large blade. The operator can raise and lower the mower deck from as low as 1 inch above the ground to as high as 4 inches above the ground. The mower deck on the Z Force S46 Zero Turn Rider is built from robust 12 gauge steel. 4 small wheels are also present on the mower deck to keep the edges from possibly scraping the ground that it’s traveling over.
Unlike small Cub Cadet lawnmowers, the Cub Cadet Z-Force S46 Zero Turn Rider has a rear hitch for towing that comes with the machine as standard. The Z Force S46 mower is often used by professional landscapers and contractors due to it’s large fuel tank. This tank holds 17 liters (4.5 US gallons) of gasoline which is enough for over 3 hours of continuous operation before it needs to be refilled. Other similar but larger machines from the same series include the Cub Cadet Z-Force S48 and Cub Cadet Z-Force S54 lawnmowers.
