The Cub Cadet LTX1045 lawn mower is powered by a Courage engine designed and built by Kohler. This engine is a one cylinder that provdies the LTX 1045 with 20 hp to power both the mower deck and the wheels. The mower deck on this Cub Cadet lawnmower has not one but 2 blades. These are enclosed in a deck constructed of strong 12 gauge steel. The deck itself has 4 small wheels. Each of these wheels is located at each of the 4 outer corners. The purpose of the wheels is to keep the mower deck from scraping the ground it’s traveling over when the mower deck is at it’s lowest.

The deck on the Cub Cadet LTX1045 has a cutting width of 46 inches, although it’ total width is much greater than this due to it’s large plastic discharge flap located on the side of the deck. The deck can be lowered to 1.5 inches above the ground it’s cutting and up to 4 inches above the ground it’s cutting. This raising and lowering of the mower deck on the LTX 1045 is done manually. It you don’t want to just discharge the grass clippings out the side of the mower deck, you can use a mulching kit instead which will thoroughly chop up the grass and help it to rot faster, returning it’s nutrients to the soil.

The Cub Cadet LTX1045 is incredibly versatile. While many people will buy it solely to cut their grass, you can also attach many different implements to it for other jobs. A snow blower can be added to the front of it during the winter, while different types of carts, sprayers, spreader, blades, rollers and aerators can also be attached to the LX 1045.
