John Deere 220 E-Cut Hybrid
The John Deere 220 E-Cut Hybrid walk behind, golf green lawn mower is another quality mower from JD. The lawn mower is powered by a Honda GX120 engine. This engine is a 4 stroke with a total volume of 0.118 liters. The engine uses an air cooling system to keep it’s weight down. The total power output from the Honda engine comes to 3.5 hp. The engine on the JD 220 ECut draws it’s fuel from a fuel tank that can hold up to 2.5 liters (0.66 US gallons) of gasoline.
The cutting system on the John Deere 220 E-Cut Hybrid is very different than the cutting system you will find on regular push lawnmowers from JD. Instead of having a single blade or blades, there is a cutting reel or cylinder to which blades are attached. The cutting reel on the JD 220 Hybrid has a diameter of 0.13 m (5 inches). Attached to this cylinder are 11 blades that are constructed from heat treated chromium molydenum steel. There are also a number of other optional blades that can be used as well that each have different thicknesses. There is also a plastic grass catcher that comes with this golf green mower that weighs 3.2 kg. One of the cool things about the grass collector is that as it fills up, it transfers it’s weight to the wheels and does not affect the cutting unit at all.
The top speed of the John Deere 220 E-Cut Hybrid going forwards comes in at 8.4 kph (5.2 mph) which is pretty nippy if you are going to be walking behind it. The total cutting width of the JD 220 E Cut comes to 0.56 m (22 inches). On this golf green lawn mower you will find a front steel roller and a rear aluminum roller.
