The Cub Cadet SC2400 sub compact tractor is a much more versatile machine when compared to the likes of the Cub Cadet ZTT42 and the Cub Cadet ZTT50 tractor lawn mowers. The SC 2400 gets it’s power from a 24 hp diesel engine. This 3 cylinder engine has a total displacement of 0.903 liters. It uses a full pressure lubrication system to prevent wear and tear. To prevent the engine from overheating the engine is liquid cooled by a system that has a total capacity to hold 3.2 liters of water. The sub compact tractor is started using a 12 volt battery that is then recharged via a 40 amp alternator once the engine is ticking over. The air filter is a dry type which prevents dust from entering and potentially disrupting the combustion process.

The fuel tank on the Cub Cadet SC2400 can hold up to 22 liters (5.8 US gallons) of diesel. The SC 2400 sub compact uses a hydrostatic transmission so that you never have to change gears during operation, although there is both a Hi and Lo gear setting on it. To give the operator better control on this machine, there is a rear differential lock and selectable 2WD/4WD. To control your speed there is a wet disc braking system. The max speed of this sub compact tractor going forward is 15 kph (9.3 mph) and in reverse it’s 9 kph (5.6 mph).

There are a great number of different attachments for the Cub Cadet SC2400. These include a 60 inch mid mounted mower deck, a box scraper, a 45 inch dual stage snow blower, a large bagger system and front end loader. There are also 3 variations of this model. They are the Cub Cadet SC2400TD, the Cub Cadet SC2400TL and the Cub Cadet SC2400TLD that are all very similar in power, size and the attachments that they are compatible with.
