The Toro GT315-8 garden tractor lawn mower is a machine from the team at Toro that is fairly old but is still available due to the fact that it’s proven the test of time and offers great performance. The GT3158 from Toro has a Command engine with overhead valves that is built by Kohler. This engine is a single cylinder model that pumps out 15 hp and is air cooled. The total displacement of the engine comes to 0.426 liters. The tank supplying fuel to the engine has a maximum capacity of 8.5 liters (2.25 US gallons) of gasoline. The Uni-Drive gearbox on the lawnmower gives it 8 speeds traveling forwards and one for reversing.

There are many reasons why the Toro GT315-8 is still a popular machine and is still made by the guys at Toro. One is the fact that it has a solid cast iron front axle. This axle is super tough and highly unlikely to break or damage even under very heavy and sudden loading. The wheel base of the Toro GT3158 comes in at 45.5 inches, while it has a total length of 65 inches. The weight of the machine comes in at 283 kg (624 lbs). However as much of the design of this mower hasn’t changed in many years, it still has a very large minimum turning radius of 32 inches.

When buying the Toro GT315-8 brand new, it comes with a 2 year warranty for the engine. The frame and axle however come with a 5 year warranty. The GT 315-8 is a very versatile machine, capable of accommodating a range of attachments from snow blowers to snow blades as well as rollers, sweepers, tillers and of course baggers.
