The Snow Joe SJ908 Snow Blower is a very large machine. It’s not quite as big as the Snow Joe SJ909 Snow Blower but it’s far bigger than the likes of the Snow Joe SJ906 Snow Blower or the Snow Joe SJ803 Snow Blower. It is a dual stage snowblower and so uses both a steel auger and impeller to break up the snow in front of it. The auger in the SJ908 housing is made from serrated steel and has a diameter of 0.28 m (11 inches). This moves the snow towards the impeller in the middle of the housing. The impeller consists of 3 blades and is made from steel. It has a diameter of 0.3 m (12 inches).

Once the snow has be been properly broken up, the impeller then shoots it’s out through the chute, up to 9.14 m (30 feet) from the snow thrower. The chute used to direct the snow is made from steel and can rotate up to 180 degrees. It’s controlled remotely along with the deflector so that the operator never needs to stop the Snow Joe SJ908 snowblower to make an adjustment. Adjustments can be made on the fly.

The clearing width of the Snow Joe SJ908 dual stage snowblower is 0.76 m (30 inches) and it has a clearing height of 0.53 m (21 inches). With the addition of snow drift cutting knives that can be attached to the sides of the housing, this 30 inch snowblower can tackle even deeper depths of snow. The total weight of the machine is surprisingly light, it tips the scales at just 86.2 kg (190 lbs). The snow thrower uses specially designed snow tires that have a diameter of 0.38 m (15 inches) and a width of 0.13 m (5 inches).
