McCulloch M12597RB
The McCulloch M12597RB garden tractor lawn mower is a slightly more powerful model than the likes of the McCulloch M11577RB and the McCulloch M11577HRB lawnmowers. The M125 97RB is closely related to the McCulloch M12597HRB. The only different between the 2 is that the M12597HRB is an automatic thanks to it’s hydrostatic transmission. The engine that powers the M12597RB is a PowerBuilt engine from Briggs and Stratton. This is a one cylinder motor that uses a splash lubrication system to prevent the engine parts from wearing excessively. Even though the engine is relatively small, providing just 5.8 kW at 2500 rpm, it’s key started with the help of a 12 volt battery. The fuel tank on this model can hold up to 4.7 liters (1.2 US gallons) of gasoline.
The McCulloch M12597RB uses a gearshift transmission system to bring power to the wheels. It has 6 different forward speeds, but only 1 for reversing. The engine also powers the mower deck using a belt drive system. The mower deck on the M125 97RB has a cutting width of 0.97 m (38.2 inches), which you may have already guessed from the name. Thankfully this model comes with a bagger system as standard, which means that if you want to leave your lawn looking neat, this could definitely be the machine for you. The bagger has the capacity to hold up to 7.1 bushels of grass before it needs to be emptied.
If you want to save time when using the McCulloch M12597RB lawnmower, then it may be a good idea to not collect the grass clippings. Instead, you should think about purchasing the optional mulching kit to turn the grass clippings into a nutritious mulch instead. Or alternatively you can just attach a plastic deflector and discharge the clippings onto the lawn. Most people with lawns that vary in size from about 0.5 to 3 acres in size will find this to be a very adequate lawnmower.
