Massey Ferguson 5455
The Massey Ferguson 5455 is from the Massey Ferguson 5400 series of tractors. This tractor is the biggest in the series, but there are smaller tractors, the Massey Ferguson 5445, the Massey Ferguson 5435 and the Massey Ferguson 5425. The MF5455 has been coming off the production line in France since 2005. The tractor is powered by a Perkins 1104 diesel engine. This is a 4 cylinder engine that uses a Wastegate turbocharger and has a displacement of 4.4 liters which give the tractor a maximum power output of 112 hp. The engine is liquid cooled and uses a dual paper air filter to clean the air intake. The engine for this tractor sits in a choice of 2 chassis. The first is a 4×2 2WD chassis, while there is also the option of a 4×4 MFWD 4WD for even more control.
The gear box on the Massey Ferguson 5455 is mechanical powershift, Speedshift model. This gives the tractor 16 speeds when moving forward and 16 speeds when traveling in reverse. The category 2, 3 point hitch on the MF 5455 has a lifting capacity of 3175 kg (7000lbs) . The fuel tank can hold a maximum of 151.4 liters (40 US gallons) of diesel, but there is another, larger optional fuel tank available that holds 201.4 liters (53.2 US gallons) of diesel. The tractor has a choice of hydraulic systems, you can opt for a either a an open or closed system.
The 4WD chassis gives the MF 5455 an operating weight of 4220 kg (9305 lbs), while the 2WD version gives it an operating weight of 3934 kg (8675 lbs). The length of the machine comes in at 4.2 m (165.7 inches) and it measures 2 m (79 inches) wide. It has a wheelbase of 2.46 m (97 inches).
