The Lawn Boy 10605 self propelled, walk behind lawn mower is very similar to both the Lawn Boy 10604 as well as the Lawn Boy 10606 push lawnmowers. All three machines have the same cutting widths and the same engines. However, the 10605 is actually fairly unique as it uses a Blade Stop system. This is a nice little innovation which stops the blade (but not the engine) if you decide to step away from the mower to remove an obstacle or do something else. This is particularly handy if you use a bagger to collect the clippings as it means that you can remove the bagger and empty it without having to restart the lawn mower each time.

The Lawn Boy 10605 is self propelled using the rear wheels thanks to a Kohler engine that has a displacement of 0.149 liters. This engine produces 6.5 ft lbs of torque. This engine is pull started and uses a standard air filter to make sure that the air intake does not have any impurities in it before entering into the engine. The pull start, recoil mechanism is very easy and if it does start to give you trouble, Lawn Boy will fix it for up to 3 years after you first purchase the 10605 lawn mower.

The mower deck on the Lawn Boy 10605 has a cutting width of 20 inches. This deck is set up to discharge the grass clippings out the side if you want to cut your lawn quickly. Alternatively, you can use the rear bagger attachment to collect the grass clippings which will leave your lawn looking a lot cleaner, but may be denying it the nutrients of the rotting grass clippings. The third option is to mulch the grass clippings which is very easy thanks to the fact that the blade is a tri-cut model.
