Kubota M59
The Kubota M59 utility tractor is by far the most powerful and largest model in the TLB series of tractors from Kubota. It has a 59 hp engine which makes it much stronger than the other 3 machines in the series, the Kubota B26, Kubota L39 and the Kubota L45 tractors. The M 59 gets it’s power from a diesel engine that is 2.434 liters in size. This 4 cylinder diesel engine uses a dual element air filter to stop dust and other particulate matter from entering in the engine and potentially disrupting the combustion process. The engine runs at a rated speed of 2700 rpm. The fuel tank on this model can hold a maximum of 55 liters (14.5 US gallons) of diesel.
The engine on the Kubota M59 powers the wheels through a HST Plus hydrostatic transmission. This transmission gives the utility tractor infinite speeds over 6 different ranges. It uses a single dry clutch for changing gears. The HST Plus transmission gives the M59 a top speed going forwards of 25.6 kph (15.9 mph) which makes it quite nippy if you have large distances to cover. The tractor is slowed down using a wet disk braking system.
The rear PTO on the Kubota M59 has a maximum power output of 46 hp. This allows it to power a whole range of implements that can be quickly and easily attached to the category 1 (and optionally category 2) 3 point hitch. The 3 point hitch is powered by the hydraulics system. The 3 point hitch has a maximum lifting capacity of 1350 kg (2976 lbs). Most people purchase the M 59 utility tractor as it is compatible with both a front end loader and a backhoe which makes it incredible versatile around your garden for a number of tasks.
