Kubota F3680
The Kubota F3680 zero turn lawnmower gets it’s power from a Kubota V1505 engine that pumps out a very impressive 36 hp. This 4 cylinder engine is diesel powered and liquid cooled. It has a displacement of 1.498 liters and uses a dual element air filter to prevent particulate matter from entering into the combustion chamber which can result in reduced performance and damage to the engine. The engine on the F 3680 is started by a 12 volt battery that is then recharged by a 40 amp alternator once the engine is ticking over.
Power from the engine on the Kubota F3680 gets to the wheels by first passing through a HST, hydrostatic gearbox which makes the machine an automatic. The F 3680 utilizes a differential lock along with a turn assist braking mechanism which allows it to make zero radius turns. You will notice that unlike a lot of zero turn mowers, the Kubota F3680 has a steering wheel. The total length of this machine is 2.45 m (96.5 inches), while it’s total weight comes to 765 kg (1687 lbs). There is a choice of 2 different sized mower decks for this model. One has a cutting width of 60 inches while the larger model has a cutting width of 72 inches. There is also a choice of whether you want to discharge the grass out the rear of the deck or out the side of it.
The depth of the mower deck on the F 3680 is 5.5 inches and it is constructed from welded steel. The mower deck can be raised and lowered from a low of just 1 inch above the ground to a high of 5 inches above the ground. You will notice a number of small anti-scalping wheel on the mower deck which prevent it from scraping and scratching the lawn surface when it’s traveling over it. Less powerful models in the F series than this one include the Kubota F2680E and the Kubota F3080 lawn mowers.
