John Deere JS63
The John Deere JS63 is a really high quality lawn mower from the team at JD. Unlike most of the lawn mowers John Deere produces, which are large ride on garden tractors, this mower is a much smaller, stand behind, self-propelled lawnmower. So if you haven’t got a large garden to mow but still want to go with the high quality and trusted brand name of John Deere when buying a new mower, you can opt for the JS JS63 instead.
Obviously as it is a stand behind mower, the speeds are a little different. The John Deere JD JS63 has only 3 gears going forward and maxes out at just 5 km/h, which is fine, as going any faster would mean that you would be running behind this mower! The cutting height of this mower, like all models is completely adjustable, from 1 inch to 4 inches (or 25.5mm to 102mm). While the mowing deck is 21 inches wide, which is very respectable for a walk behind mower.
You’ll also be pleased to know that the John Deere JS63 has a 4 stroke, 6.5 hp Intek engine, designed and built by Briggs and Stratton, driving the rear wheels via belt. It’s fuel capacity is just 1.5 liters, which may seem small compared to it’s bigger brothers, but is quite ample for the John Deere JS 63 As on most push or self propelled lawnmowers these days, the JD JS63 has the option of either using the bagger to collect clippings or you can remove the bag and allow the clippings to be mulched. Just remember that doing this on a wet or damp day is going to put excessive stress on the engine (and possibly damage it).
One thing that a lot of people find when purchasing John Deere equipment, like this lawnmower is that they are paying a premium for the name. Sure, they are getting the high quality that everyone has known to expect from JD, but sometimes, especially in the current economic climate, it can seem a little too much. So instead they opt for a different model.
