The John Deere JS26 walk behind lawn mower gets it’s power from a 4 stroke, Briggs and Stratton engine that has been specifically designed for use in JD push mowers. It has a displacement of 0.19 liters which produces 7 ft-lbs of torque that both drives the lawnmower forward and powers the mower deck. To start the engine, you need to pull on the pull cord recoil system. The engine has been specially designed so that you don’t need to use the choke (which can potentially flood the engine) to start it.
