John Deere G15
The John Deere G15 self propelled, walk behind lawn mower is powered by a Command Pro gasoline engine that is designed and built by Kohler. This one cylinder engine has a displacement of 0.426 liters. The engine is started with a pull cord recoil mechanism. Before air enters into the combustion chamber and mixes with the fuel, it is cleaned of particulate matter by first passing through a dual stage air filter. The fuel tank supplying gasoline to the engine has a capacity to hold up to 18.9 liters (5 US gallons).
Controlling the speed of the John Deere G15 is fairly easy. The transmission offers the driver 5 different speeds going forwards and 1 for reversing, so you should always be able to find a suitable speed that you are comfortable with. The top speed of the JD G15 going forwards is 10.1 kph (6.3 mph), which is fast enough to make you jog! While in reverse it can travel at 4.3 kph (2.7 mph). So even though this is a walk behind lawn mower, it’s still quite fast around your garden.
Another thing that you will notice about the John Deere G15 walk behind mower, is that it’s got a very impressive cutting width, coming in at 36 inches. However, with the chute down, the total width of the lawnmower is a lot bigger, coming in at 50 inches. Perhaps this self propelled lawn mower is a little too big and powerful for you. If this is the case, then you may be more interested in something a little smaller, like the John Deere WE80 or the John Deere WE85 self propelled, walk behind mowers. The total weight of this machine is 192.8 kg (425 lbs). The operator is able to adjust the height of the cutting deck on the JD G15 from a very low 0.75 inches above the ground up to 4.5 inches above the ground.

Basically I love this mower.
I love the mower. Have not had any problems. I have about an acre of lawn and it is a breeze mowing.
I find second gear is the best gear to mow in, as anything higher is just a bit too fast.
I would recommend this mower to anyone.
I much prefer the walk behind to a ride on, as much simpler, and also I get my exercise when mowing.
I guess some might like an electric start. But I am all about simplicity. So I love the pull cord starter, as it is simple and if it breaks easy to fix.
Total junk. don’t buy this mower.
