The John Deere 3520 compact utility tractor is a similar but larger model than the John Deere 3320. It is similar in power to the John Deere 3038E tractor. The engine powering the JD 3520 is a Yanmar. The model number of this engine is 3TNV84T. This diesel, turbocharged engine has 3 cylinders and produces a very respectable 37 hp. The engine uses direct injection technology which allows the operator to more easily start it during cold weather. Controlling this lawnmower is relatively easy thanks to the fact that it’s a 4WD machine. This machine also has power steering and wet disk brakes which further add to it’s ease of use.

On top of this, the John Deere 3520 comes with a choice of 3 different transmissions. The first is a PowrReverser partially synchronized transmission that provides the JD 3520 with 12 gears when traveling forwards and in reverse also. However, for extra ease of use the other two transmissions (Sauer-Danfoss eHydro and eHydro AutoHST) make the machine an automatic over 3 gear speeds (Hi, Medium, Lo). This compact tractor comes with a rear PTO as standard that has a maximum capacity of 1147 kg (2530 lbs), but also has the option of a mid PTO (for mid mounted mower decks).

The total weight of the John Deere 3520 comes to 1619 kg (3570 lbs) if you purchase it with a cab. However there is also the option of buying with a fold away roll bar (ROPS). This version of the JD 3520 (with the ROPS, not the cab) is a fair amount lighter, tipping the scales at 1315 kg (2900 lbs). This machine is at the upper end of the spectrum when it comes to compact utility tractors. This compact utility tractor has many attachments that it’s compatible with, from snow blowers to backhoes, loaders and mower decks, so you will always be able to easily find a use for it.
