John Deere 3120
The John Deere 3120 compact tractor is mainly used on golf courses. It’s part of a series of JD tractors including the John Deere 3320 compact tractor that you will regularly find in turf care. The engine powering the 3120 is a diesel Yanmar that produces 19.5 horsepower. It’s a 5 liter, 3 cylinder engine, that needs 7.6 liters of oil and has a liquid cooling system that requires 5 liters of coolant. The 29.5 horsepower on the 3120 is transferred to the wheels through it’s 4×4 MFWD 4WD chassis via an eHydro transmission that gives the John Deere 3120 3 gears going forward and 3 gears in reverse.
The 12 volt battery on the JD 3120 is charged using a 40 amp alternator. It uses a direct injection fuel system which makes starting this compact utility tractor quite easy. It has power steering for greater control and uses a wet disc braking system. The hydraulic system on the John Deere 3120 can operate at a maximum PSI of 250.
The iMatch, 3 point hitch at the back of the tractor is a category 1 capable of lifting a maximum of 1149 kg (1530 lbs). The rear PTO on the tractor revs at 540 rpm, while the optional mid PTO revs at 2100 rpm and is obviously there to take a mid mounted mower deck. The John Deere 3120 does not have the option of a cab, but does come equipped with a OSHA and ASAE certified roll bar to help protect you from being crushed in the off chance that the tractor tips. The tractors weighs in at 1360 kg (3ooo lbs) and has a wheel base of 1.72 m (68 inches). It’s minimum turning radius is 2.8 m (9.2 feet). There are a wide array of attachments that the JD 3120 can take, from disc mowers, wheel rakes, front end loaders and sprayers to box blades, manure spreaders, backhoes, rear mounted mowing decks and obviously mid mounted mowing decks.
