John Deere 1435
The John Deere 1435 commercial front mower is very similar in many respects to the John Deere 1420. They are both powered by the same engine, a liquid cooled Yanmar that produces 26 hp. The diesel engine starts relatively easy in harshly cold conditions due to it’s direct injection system. The engine is started with a 12 volt battery that is recharged with a 55 amp alternator once the engine is ticking over. The hydrostatic transmission on the JD 1435 means that you never need to worry about changing gears on it, you just need to use the pedals to speed up or slow down. The liquid cooling system on this engine can hold up to 7.1 liters of water.
The top speed of the John Deere 1435 comes in at 19.3 kph (12 mph). Slowing down is very controlled on the JD 1435 thanks to it’s internal wet disk brakes. The front tires on this front mower are larger than the back tires. They measure 23×10.5-12 (23 inch diameter, 10.5 inch width, 12 inch rim diameter), while the rear wheels measure 18×8.5-8 (18 inch diameter, 8.5 inch width, 8 inch rim diameter). The wheelbase of the lawnmower is 1.25 m (49 inches) while it’s total length is much bigger than this, coming in at 2.22 m (86.7 inches).
The mower deck on the John Deere 1435 front lawn mower is the biggest indicator that it’s a commercial machine. It’s John Deere’s 7 Iron II mower deck. There are a choice of 7 Iron II mower decks for it. These measure 72 inches wide, 62 inches wide and the smallest is just 60 inches wide. Instead of just one large blade fixed in the center of the mower deck, the 7 Iron II mower decks consist of 3 blades which give a cleaner, neater cut. One of the handy extra features that you will find on this lawn mower is a 12 volt outlet plug which will allow you to charge you phone or plug in a radio.
