John Deere 115
The John Deere 115 ride on lawnmower had a production run that only lasted for one year. This was in 2006 when it was produced in John Deere’s Horicon plant in the USA. The JD 115 is powered by a Briggs and Stratton made gasoline motor that features John Deere’s Anti Vibration System within the 1 cylinder, 0.5 liter, air cooled engine. This makes for a much smoother ride on this 19 hp garden tractor. The engine has a key ignition meaning you do not have to strain yourself starting this machine with a pull cord. The engine needs 1.4 liters of oil to fully fill it from empty.
Using it’s Tuff Torq T40, hydrostatic transmission, the John Deere 115 has an infinite number of speeds going forwards and an infinite number of speeds going backwards. When going forward, the 115 has a top speed of 5.5 mph but when traveling in reverse, the JD 115 maxes out at just over 3 mph. Like many John Deere tractor lawn mower models this size, it has a 4×2 2WD chassis and manual steering. As this is a mid sized model, it does not have the added option of a protective cab, so if you are planning to use this tractor a lot for things like snow removal, then you might consider getting a tractor that has a cab.
The 42″ mower deck that comes with the John Deere 115 features JD’s ‘The Edge’ cutting technology to give a more accurate and even grass cut. When the mower is engaged, you have the choice of either collecting the grass clippings in a bagger or instead using a mulch cover. Using the mulch cover is a real time saver as it means you don’t need to be constantly emptying the bagger. The JD 115 uses John Deere’s CargO Mount system for both attachments at the back and at the front which does make this quite an all round garden tractor and much more than just another ride on garden lawnmower. The John Deere 115 is quite light, weighing in at only 204 kg (450 lbs), has a length of 1.75 m (69 inches) and a width of 1.32 m (52 inches).

Very reliable, nice old machine that runs great and cleans up well. Starting to burn a little oil but it should be an easy fix. Cuts nice and the deck comes off easy to change blades/belt, and clean.
have owned it for 13 years, it is the best riding lawn mower I have ever owned, I keep it lubed with wd40, maybe that is the secret. hope it lasts forever.
