Husqvarna GTH2548
There are quite a few tractor lawnmowers that are very similar to the Husqvarna GTH2548 lawn mower. These include the Husqvarna 2348LS as well as the Husqvarna GTH27V48LS and the Husqvarna YTH24V48LS garden tractor lawn mowers. The engine that powers the GTH 2548 lawn mower produces 25 hp. This is a twin cylinder model with full pressure lubrication to keep it running smoothly. The full pressure lubrication system has an oil filter and can hold up to 1.9 liters of oil. The air intake is filtered through a paper type air filter which prevents dust from getting into the engine and potentially ruining the combustion process.
Power from the engine on Husqvarna GTH2548 is first transferred through a hydrostatic transmission before reaching the wheels. The amount of power the rear wheels receive is controlled by the foot pedal accelerator. The max speed of the mower is 9.3 kph (5.8 mph). The mower deck on this model has a cutting width of 48 inches. The total width of the deck is closer to 60 inches as there is a black plastic flap attached to the side of deck which prevents the grass clippings from flying everywhere.
On the Husqvarna GTH2548 there are 3 different options for dealing with the waste grass clippings. The ‘cleanest’ is to just collect them in the rear attached bagger attachment. Unfortunately though this is fairly time consuming and the bagger can sometimes get blocked which takes up even more time. There are other options though. You can mulch them or just discharge them out the side of the deck. Many people see the GTH 2548 as the slightly more powerful model of the Husqvarna GTH2448 lawnmower. I REALLY Love This Mower! Only, I Hafta Replace A Few Things, To MAKE It Work Longer, AND Last! Fortunately My Dad’s Been Teaching Me How To Do THIS Kinda Work, ALL My Life!
This IS The BEST Mower I’ve EVER Used! After some upgrades, lika cleanable air filter, and changing the lame “plastic” Steering shaft bushings with Bronze ones, this mower IS “Invincible!”
Absoulutly horrible
I Absolutely LOVE This Mower! I AM looking for a “CLEANABLE” air filter, though! As, my place hasa BUNCHA Dirt! I made the Bronze bushings AND mounts, for the steering shaft. After this, I “NEVER” hafta replace them plastic “cheapy’s”, EVER again! I’ve also replaced both the Intake AND Exhaust valves, because the “cheap originals” CONSISTALNTLY Stretch! This causes the engine to loose compression, until the valves are readjusted.
I am very happy with this mower/tractor. It cuts the yard very well and looks good doing it.I think it is the nicest one in my area, but then I guess I’m bias……. I read the description of this tractor at the top of this page. Mine does not have a foot pedal accelerator. Mine has the lever on the RH rear fender for forward/reverse control, the vertical lever on the fwd RH side for raising the mower deck and the foot pedal for the brake on the LH fwd side. Did this model come in different configurations?
this continues to be a very good machine . with proper maintenance it should contine to operate for quite a number of years . john mentioned theback fire problem . i had experienced the same and was told to not idle all the way down , instead have it running around half way , faster than idle , and never had it back fire again .
