Craftsman 28981 Professional 26 hp 50″
The Craftsman 28981 Professional 26 hp 50″ garden tractor lawn mower is quite popular among commercial garden contractors and landscapers, hence the name! The engine that powers this 50 inch lawnmower is a Briggs and Stratton with overhead valves. This engine is a twin cylinder model that uses a full pressure lubrication system. The total size of the engine in the 28981 lawnmower comes to 0.724 liters. Each of the 2 cylinders uses cast iron cylinder liners. The air intake uses a cartridge type air filter to clean the air intake of possible contaminants before it enters into the combustion chambers. The engine is started with a keystart ignition that uses a 12 volt battery to supply 230 cold cranking amps.
Power from the engine on the Craftsman 28981 Professional 26 hp 50 inch lawnmower drives the wheels through a pedal operated hydrostatic transmission. The mower deck deck is also powered by the same engine. The deck is constructed from 12 gauge steel and houses 3 blades which cover a width of 50 inches. The maximum width of the mower deck is much higher than this due to the protective discharge flap located on the side of the deck. The mower deck has 12 different positions and can operate as low as 1.5 inches above your lawn. If you want, you can also optionally purchase a mulching kit for the 28981 lawnmower or alternatively you can purchase a bagger attachment to collect up all the grass clippings, leaving your lawn looking incredibly neat. This lawnmower can also work with a snow blower or even a front blade.
