John Deere 530
The John Deere 530 is the tractor that took over from the John Deere 520 tractor. The JD 530 had a production run that lasted 3 years from 1958 until 1960. The tractor comes with a category 2, 3 point hitch to allow it to work with many different attachments. The PTO (power take off) is rated at 540 rpm. The total weight of the machine comes to 2249 kg (4960 lbs). It has a wheelbase 0f 2.28 m (90 inches) and is 2.11 m (83 inches) at it’s highest point. The total length of the tractor is 3.37 m (132.8 inches).
The John Deere 530 has a choice of 3 different engines, all of which have been developed and built by JD themselves. The first engine choice is a twin cylinder gasoline model that is naturally aspirated. It uses an oil bath air filter and is liquid cooled by a very large cooling system which requires 24.6 liters to fully fill it from empty. The second choice of engine is powered by LP gas. This engine is also a twin cylinder model that has a total displacement of 3.1 liters. The last engine choice for the JD 530 is an all-fuel engine that is naturally aspirated. This 2 cylinder engine has a total volume of 3.1 liters. All three engines are started via a 12 volt battery.
Power reaches the wheels of the John Deere 530 after first passing through the gearbox. The gearbox on this tractor is an unsynchronized one that uses a dry disc clutch for changing gears. The gearbox gives it 6 gears going forward and 1 for reversing. It has a top speed of 16.1 kph (10 mph). There a number of other tractors in the same series as the JD 530. Smaller models include the John Deere 330 and the John Deere 430 tractors, while the John Deere 630 and the John Deere 730 tractors are larger and mower powerful.
