Lawn Boy 10640
The Lawn Boy 10640 walk behind lawn mower is very similar to other models like the Lawn Boy 10604 and the Lawn Boy 10605 lawnmowers as all their decks are of similar sizes. The engine that powers the 10640 is a ReadyStart model from Briggs and Stratton. This is a gasoline powered engine that produces 6.75 ft-lbs of torque. Unfortunately this model is push powered and is not self propelled. This means that is most suited to gardens that are less than 0.75 acres in size, otherwise you might find yourself getting very tired, very quickly hauling this machine through your garden. The engine is not CARB compliant which means that unfortunately, it’s not for sale in California.
The engine powers the single blade in the mower deck on the Lawn Boy 10640 push lawn mower. This blade has a total length of 20 inches and is fabricated from steel. The deck itself is also made from steel. The deck is has quite a depth to it which means that it is well capable of handling fairly long grass. This extra space also aides it to thoroughly mulch the grass clippings. However, you don’t have to mulch the grass clippings. Instead you can just discharge them out the side of the deck or you can use the rear bagger attachment to collect them. The mower deck on the 10640 push mower can be raised up to 4 inches above the ground and lowered down to just 1 inch above the ground.
The total weight of the Lawn Boy 10640 push lawn mower comes to 29.9 kg (66 lbs). This incredibly light weight means that it’s not too taxing to push. The 10640 comes with a 2 year warranty that covers the entire machine. If you would prefer a self propelled lawn mower from Lawn Boy then perhaps the Lawn Boy 10606 lawnmower will be to your liking.
