Bad Boy 5400 Outlaw
The Bad Boy 5400 Outlaw zero turn lawn mower is the smallest model in the Outlaw series from Bad Boy. Larger machines in the Outlaw series are the Bad Boy 6100 Outlaw and the Bad Boy 7200 Outlaw Extreme zero turn lawn mowers. The 5400 Outlaw lawnmower is powered by a Briggs and Stratton Professional Series engine. This engine is a twin cylinder with a total displacement of 0.81 liters. The engine gets it’s fuel from a gas tank that can hold up to 54.9 liters (14.5 US gallons). The engine is prevented from overheating thanks to an air cooling system. There is also a replaceable automotive type fuel filter to prevent any possible particulate matter that is in the fuel tank from entering into the combustion chambers. The total power output from the engine is 30 hp.
The Bad Boy 5400 Outlaw has hydrostatic transmission system that allows the operator to control the speed of each rear wheel independent of the other using the lap bars. This system powers the rear wheels on the 5400 Badboy. The rear wheels carry most of the weight of the machine also. This is why they are so much larger than the front wheels, each measuring 24×12-10 (24 inch diameter, 12 inch width, 10 inch rim diameter). The front wheels are unlike the rear wheels. They are smooth as they do not need to grip the surface you are moving over. Each front wheel measures 13×6.5-6 (13 inch diameter, 6.5 inch width, 6 inch rim diameter).
The mower deck on the Bad Boy 5400 Outlaw zero turn has a cutting width of 54 inches. This deck has a total of 3 blades, each of which has a length of 18.75 inches. The blades have a width of 2.5 inches and are made from quarter inch thick steel. They have been heat treated so as to prolong their cutting life.
