Cub Cadet G1548
The Cub Cadet G1548 walk behind, self propelled lawn mower is the largest, most powerful machine in the Wide Area Gear series of walk behind mowers. The other 2 models in this series are the Cub Cadet G1236 and the Cub Cadet G1332 lawnmowers with are both smaller and less powerful. The G 1548 lawn mower has a very large cutting width of 48 inches. This deck houses 3 blades. The deck is made from 10 gauge steel. The blades are belt driven using a Kevlar reinforced belt. The blades on the mower deck are manually engaged. You can adjust the height of the mower deck from a high of 4 inches to a low of 2 inches above the ground. While the mower deck has a cutting width of 48 inches, the total width of the lawn mower is actually far higher, closer to 60 inches due to the large discharge chute attached to the right side of the mower.
For dealing with the grass clippings on the Cub Cadet G1548 walk behind mower, you have 3 choices. Many people will just discharge the grass clippings out the side of the deck. Unfortunately though, this can make your lawn look quite ugly. Fortunately their is the option of using a mulching plug (purchased separately) to turn the grass clippings into a nutritious mulch. If this still doesn’t leave your lawn as neat as you’d like it, you can also purchase an optional rear bagger attachment for the G 1548 to collect the clippings to dispose of them off site.
The wheels and the mower blades on the Cub Cadet G1548 are both powered by a twin cylinder Kawasaki engine. This engine features overhead valves and uses a full pressure lubrication system to keep everything working smoothly. The engine is started using a recoil mechanism.
