The Husqvarna iZ4821 zero turn lawn mower is the smaller sister of the Husqvarna iZ5223 mower as it has both a smaller cutting width and a less powerful engine. The engine powering the iZ 4821 is a Kawasaki that produces 21 hp. This engine uses a canister type air filter to prevent dust and other contaminants from potentially entering into the combustion chambers and disrupting the firing process. This engine transfers power to the wheels through a wheel motor. This system allows the operator to individually control each rear wheel using the lap bars in front of him. The top speed of the iZ4821 is 15.3 kph (9.5 mph).

The mower deck on the Husqvarna iZ4821 has a cutting width of 48 inches. This deck houses 3 blades that are engaged using an electric PTO. The deck has an operating height that ranges from a high of 5 inches to a low of 1.5 inches above the ground. The mower deck on the iZ4821 is raised and lowered using a foot assisting pedal. The wheels through which power is transferred are quite large, each measuring 23×9.5-12 (23 inch diameter, 9.5 inch width, 12 inch rim diameter).
