Kubota M7040
The Kubota M7040 tractor sounds very similar to the Kubota M7040SU tractor, and they are fairly similar, but they both have different power outputs and different transmissions, making their performance different. The M 7040 gets it’s power from a V3307-DI-T engine. This diesel engine starts easy on cold, frosty mornings thanks to the fact that it uses a direct injection fuel system. The 4 cylinder engine operates at a rated speed of 2600 rpm. It has a displacement of 3.331 liters and is turbocharged which allows it to produce 71 hp.
The Kubota M7040 can be purchased with either an open operator station that has a ROPS (roll bar) or with a cab that has the ROPS built into it. If you choose the M 7040 with a cab, the fuel tank holds an extra 20 liters of diesel, having a capacity to hold 90 liters (23.8 US gallons). The model with an open operator station has a fuel tank that can only hold 70 liters (18.5 US gallons) of diesel. The speed of the tractor is controlled by a gearshift transmission. This gearbox gives it 8 speeds when going forward and 8 also for reversing. There is either a dry single plate clutch or a wet multi disk clutch depending on whether you choose a 2WD or 4WD chassis.
The Kubota M7040 can accommodate many different attachments and implement on it’s 3 point hitch. You have the choice of either a category 1 or category 2 hitch. The 3 point hitch has a maximum safe lifting capacity of 1500 kg (3307 lbs). There are many other models in the same series as the M7040 tractor. These include the Kubota M5640SU and the Kubota M6040 tractors which are both lighter and have less power.
