The Simplicity ZT4000 zero turn lawnmower is very similar to the Simplicity Champion as they both use the same engine. They are both marginally more powerful than the Simplicity ZT3000 lawnmower. The ZT 4000 is equipped with a mower deck that has been constructed from fabricated steel. This mower deck has a cutting width of 48 inches and has a number of very useful features. At the trailing edge of the mower deck, there is a roller which flattens out the grass after it has been cut. At the leading edge of the deck you will notice the small anti-scalping wheels which prevent the leading edge from scraping and scratching the surface of the lawn it’s traveling over.

The mower deck on the Simplicity ZT4000 can be adjusted from a height of 4.5 inches above the ground to 1.5 inches above the ground in 0.5 inch increments. The engine that powers the mower deck is a Briggs & Stratton Extended Life Series engine that has a power output of 26 hp. This transfers power to the wheels through a dual hydrostatic transmission. This dual hydrostatic gearbox allows the driver to control each rear wheel separately from the other with the twin lap bars in front of him.

The transmission on the Simplicity ZT4000 gives it a top speed of 12.9 kph (7 mph). Operating the ZT 4000 is realtively straightforward and easy. There is no gear changing and no steering wheel. The power and steering are both controlled by the lap bars. There are number of safety features built into this lawnmower. Probably the most important is the roll bar (ROPS), but there is also an operator presence system that turns the engine off the moment you leave the seat. This machine is popular with both commercial operators as well as individuals.
