John Deere 9630T
If you are looking for the largest, most powerful agricultural tractor that JD currently produce, then you’ve found it! The John Deere 9630T is a twin of the John Deere 9630 tractor, except that the JD 9630T is different in one crucial way and that’s the fact that it has tracks instead of tires. They both have the same 13.5 liter, turbocharged PowerTech engine that produces 530 hp and the same gearbox, but this 9630T has tracks instead of wheels. These tracks make it weigh much, much more than any other agricultural tractor currently on the John Deere production line. The total weight of the tractor comes to 19,504 kg (43,000 lbs) when it is carrying no load.
Before deciding to purchase the John Deere 9630T it’s important to weigh up both the pros and cons of a tractor with tracks. Some of the main advantages of the JD 9630T are the fact that it’s more stable on hillsides as it’s more easily able to maintain traction as well as having better maneuverability and having no tire pressure to maintain. However there are disadvantages too. The biggest disadvantage is that it’s not compatible with loaders. It also vibrates a lot when driving on a hard surface. Another disadvantage is that the tracks wear quicker than conventional wheels when it’s been driven on hard surfaces. It also has a higher initial price.
To keep the John Deere 9630T balanced when pulling heavy loads, there are a number of ballast packages available to keep the machine from tipping. If you are looking for similar, but smaller track propelled tractors from JD, then have a look at the John Deere 9430T and the John Deere 9530T tractors. Please feel free to leave a review of this tractor below. It will be of great help to potential purchasers to give them an idea of what owning/operating one entails.
