Husqvarna P-ZT5224
The Husqvarna P-ZT5224 zero turn lawnmower is one of the much newer models produced by Husqvarna. This particular model has a cutting width that is considerably smaller than a lot of other models in the P-ZT range. It measures in at just 52 inches. This mower deck is built from fabricated 11 gauge steel. At the front of the mower deck, you will find 5 small, plastic wheels that act to prevent the deck from scraping the ground in front of it which prevents it from leaving unsightly scratch marks on your lawn. The mower deck is engaged using an electric clutch. The height of the mower deck can be adjusted very accurately in 0.25 inch increments from a high of 5.5 inches above the ground to a low of 1.5 inches from ground level.
The rear wheels on the Husqvarna P-ZT5224 zero turn mower do all the work, both powering the machine forward (and backwards) as well as allowing it to change direction. The rear wheels each measure 23×10.5-12 (23 inch diameter, 10.5 inch width, 12 inch rim diameter). The front wheels have only one function really. That is to simply support the mower deck. As a result the wheels are completely smooth and much smaller, measuring 13×6.5-5 (16 inch diameter, 6.5 inch width, 5 inch rim diameter).
The engine powering the Husqvarna P-ZT5224 is not the most powerful. It’s a 24 hp Kawasaki FX series that has a displacement of 0.726 liters. This twin cylinder engine is air cooled and uses a large, heavy duty canister air filter to purge the air intake of any impurities before it enters into the combustion chamber. A Hydro-Gear ZT3400 transmission is used to split the power from the engine and divert it to each rear wheel. Similar models include the Husqvarna P-ZT6128 and the Husqvarna P-ZT6126 zero turn lawnmowers.

I bought this Husqvarna PZT5224 new. It has never been used for commercial jobs, only for my yard. It now has 255 total hours and i have had to replace 5 drive axel tie bars, and a spindel. I now have gotten to the point that i cannot find another spindel that has a broken lug nut flange. I have I have taken care of this mower and yet it has been trouble since new. Husqvarna sent me 5 new updated tire rods in one package which tells me they knew the design was/is weak. Never again will i buy this brand.
crap
the dealer is useless as tits on a boar hog..
I have had to replace the bolts at my cost using grade 8 bolts and still they shear the grip area about ever 10 hours.
either this is an engineering screw up or sorry quality..i will not have anything husqqvarna again and will not buy from the sorry Columbus ga dealer as well…
I’m tired of the crap service from the selling dealer……
I should not have had to do warranty work on this while it was in warranty.
the tie rod is at this time broken. I SAY THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE ENGENEERING REGARDING THE FACT THAT UNDER NORMAL USE,THE BOLTS KEEP SHEERING ON THIS BAR.
I am very unhappy, and will never recommend this model to to anyone.
it is yard used, and cleaned, kept inside a closed area. it has UNDER 100 HRS total time and has had 5 oil/filter changes.
the assembly was shoddy when I got it…..i.r. loose bolts. bolts[locking type] falling out of the deck.
the selling dealer in Columbus ga has been TOTALLY USELESS. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE BOLT THAT BROKE THE LAST TIME LAST YEAR….
I ENDED UP HAVING TO DRILL OUT THE SHERED BOLTanf replaced it with a grade 8 on both sides. no more HUSQVARNAS HERE….IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM.
tried contacting factory rep…wasted time….useless as tits on a bore hog.
we do not mistreat this machine. this thing would not last in commercial work if used that way…..again…we use it for our yard ONLY!!
I am less than happy with this. to bad I cannot get a refund. this thing would be on the way back today..
