The Ariens Max Zoom 60 inch zero turn lawn mower is the biggest machine in the Max Zoom series from Ariens. The 2 smaller models are the Ariens Max Zoom 48 and the Ariens Max Zoom 52 zero turn lawnmowers. The Max Zoom 60 is also often referred to as the Ariens 991087 mower. The mower deck on this model is a big one, with a cutting width of 60 inches. The mowing deck is fabricated from 10 gauge, welded steel and houses 3 mower blades. Each of these mower blades has a maximum speed of 18,000 fpm (feet per minute) when measured from the tip. The mower deck can be raised and lowered from 1 inch to 5 inches above the ground over 9 different height settings. The raising and lowering is controlled through a foot pedal.

The Ariens Max Zoom 60″ lawnmower is powered by a 0.726 liter Kawasaki FR series, twin cylinder engine. This 4 stroke engine produces 26 hp. Power from the engine is then transferred to the mower deck through a belt drive system. A dual hydrostatic transmission transfers power from the engine to the wheels. The amount of power being transferred to each wheel is controlled with the 2 lap bars in front of the operator.

There are a number of different ways that the operator can handle the grass waste on the Ariens Max Zoom 60 inch zero turn lawn mower. Many commercial landscapers when operating on residential contracts will collect the clippings in a rear bagger attachment that needs to be purchased separately. However you can also use a special mulcher attachment that cuts up the clippings so thoroughly, they quickly disintegrate back into the ground. Of course if you want you can always just discharge the grass clippings out the side of the mower deck, even if it is very unsightly.
