Toro Titan MX5480
The Toro Titan MX5480 zero turn lawn mower is very similar to the Toro Titan ZX5420 lawnmower as they both have the same sized mower decks. However it’s a good bit bigger than the Toro Titan MX4880 zero turn lawnmower. One of the best things about the Titan MX 5480 is the fact that it built especially to handle even very difficult terrains. This is thanks to a number of useful features. The leading edge of the mower deck is reinforced with a with a strong bumper to help prevent any major deflections even if you do happen to hit a very large immovable object. Attached to the leading edge are 3 small plastic wheels (1 in the middle and 1 at either side). These wheels keep the mower deck from ever scraping/scalping the ground that it’s traveling over.
The operator has 3 choices for dealing with the grass clippings from the Toro Titan MX5480. The first and easiest is to just allow them to get discharged out the side. The 2 problems with this are the fact that the clippings look very unsightly, but worse still, they can prevent the grass below it from growing, making your lawn potentially look very shabby and patchy. The next option is to use a mulching kit. This will chop the clippings into a very fine mulch that will quickly rot and provide nutrients to the soil below. The third option is to attach a bagger at the rear to collect the clippings. The only problem with this though is that the operator has to empty it every time it gets full which can be a little time consuming if you are in a rush.
Thanks to many different features, the Toro Titan MX5480 is very easy to operate and control. Speed and turning is controlled by the 2 lap bars that are operated by hand, while a foot lever is used to raise and lower the mower deck.
