Toro Z Master Z380
The Toro Z Master Z380 zero turn lawn mower is one of the smaller machines in the Z Master series from Toro. If you are after something that’s a bit bigger, then you may be interested in the Toro Z Master Z480 or the Toro Z Master Z420 zero turn lawn mowers. The engine powering the Z 380 is very small, producing just 14 hp. This engine is a Briggs and Stratton that uses a Dura-Lube lubrication system. The engine is key started using a 12 volt battery. Power from the engine gets to the wheels through a dual EZT hydrostatic setup that allows the operator to control both the speed and direction of the rear wheels through the lap bars in front of him.
The rear wheels on the Toro Z Master Z380 through which power is transferred have turf threads and measure 18×6.5 (18 inch diameter, 6.5 inch width). These are much larger than the front wheels as they carry most of the Z 380’s weight. The front castor wheels measure 10×4 (10 inch diameter, 4 inch width). The engine also powers the mower deck on the Z380. The deck has a cutting width of 38, but due to the rubber discharge flap attached to the side of the deck, it’s total width is actually about 10 inches greater than this.
For dealing with the clippings, you can purchase a bagger to collect them, a ‘Recycler’ kit to mulch them or just discharge them out the side of the deck. The Toro Z Master Z380 comes with a 2 year full warranty to people purchasing it brand new. This hopefully gives you and idea of the faith Toro have in their products. The fuel tank on the lawn mower can hold up to 7.6 liters (2 US gallons).
