This snow thrower gets it’s power from a 4 stroke, Briggs and Stratton engine. In total, this engine provides the machine with 13.5 ft-lbs of gross torque. The fuel tank for this engine is capable of holding up to 2.84 liters (0.75 US gallons) of gas. To get the M1429E going, you need to start it by either using the recoil, pull cord system or you need to plug it in and simply press the electric starter button.
The Snapper M1429E snow blower is a 2 stage snowblower so it has both an auger and an impeller to help with getting rid of snow. The auger is the first line of attack. It is located in the housing and is made from aluminum that has been serrated. This aluminum auger has a diameter of 0.3 m (12 inches) and also moves the broken up snow towards the center of the machine where the impeller is located. The impeller has a diameter of 0.3 m (12 inches) also and consists of 3 steel blades. This quickly forces the snow out through the chute at high speed.
The chute on the Snapper M1429E snow thrower is made from steel and is controlled remotely from the operators station, allowing to change the discharge direction very quickly on the fly. The chute can rotate up to 200 degrees. The Briggs and Stratton engine in this Snapper dual stage snow blower provides enough power to throw snow up to 12.2 m (40 feet).
