John Deere LT133
The John Deere LT133 is a ride on lawnmower designed and built in Horicon, Wisconsin during the late nineties and early noughties. It’s production run lasted 3 years before ending in 2001. It’s 1 cylinder, Kohler, gasoline engine is air cooled and pumps out 13hp. This then transmitted it’s power into it’s 4×2 2WD chassis through 5 gears. The JD LT133 is on the smaller side when compared to other John Deere sit on lawnmowers built around this time.
However, one of the advantages of this model was that it was relatively light, weighing just 208 kg (460 lbs). It also had a nice small turning radius of just 15 inches. It’s popular, adjustable seat has been specifically designed to offer the operator maximum comfort so that even when it’s being operated over very long periods, it doesn’t get too uncomfortable.
The mower deck on the John Deere LT 133 is 38 inches wide meaning that it will cut a lot of grass. The only problem that some people have found is that when the grass is very long or damp, the 13 hp provided by it’s Kohler engine is not enough to prevent it from stalling and cutting out. Like most lawnmowers though, the height of the cutting deck is completely adjustable (in quarter inch increments) so that if you are faced with particularly long or wet grass, you can just raise the height of the blade. All in all, the LT133 is quite a popular mower that despite it’s short production run is still sought out today by individuals with medium sized gardens as well as garden contractors.

Love it. For a acre +- yard, this is all you need. I love the gas mileage this Kohler engine provides. This is a simple lawn tractor with simple maintenance requirements which means simple repairs because this is a tough well built machine. The customers that opt for the larger engines will be buying much more gas over the season than the LT133 owners.
Just wish I could buy a larger JD that would be this good. Great little machine.
generally happy
