The John Deere 6430 is a one of JD’s most popular current large tractor models in production. It began production in 2007 in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, which is in Germany and as of today is still currently in production. The 6430 uses a John Deere built 115hp diesel, PowerTech engine. The engine itself is a 4 cylinder model with 8 valves and is 4.5 liters in size. The fuel tank itself can hold 181.7 liters of petrol (48 US gallons of gasoline). It’s also been heavily praised for the fact that it has also managed to keep it’s emissions output reasonably low without sacrificing power. It’s PowrQuad PLUS or AutoQuad PLUS transmission gives it a top speed of up to 25mph, making it very reasonable in cases where it needs to travel long distances. If you order the tractor with a PowrQuad PLUS transmission, it will come with 16 gears going forward and 16 for reversing. However with the AutoQuad PLUS, you will have 20 gears going forward and 20 in reverse also.

The JD 6430 is very much liked for it’s easy ability to be ballasted whether the ballast is attached to the rear of the tractor, the wheels or Quik Tatch weights are applied to the front of the tractor. It’s electrohydraulic, category 2, 3 point hitch makes all attachments instantly secure. The John Deere 6430 tips the scales at 4536 kg (or 10,000lbs even) when it’s fully ballasted and fueled up. Itt has a wheelbase of 2.4m (94.5 inches).

All in all the John Deere 6430 is a firm favorite among farmers. Many like it for the reason that it is just so versatile. It’s not so big that it is only used as a working horse, while at the same time, it’s not so small that it can only be used for simple jobs. Thanks to it’s size it can just about handle any job thrown at it, from drawing grain (provided the load is not too big) to moving bales with a front end loader attachment.
